Tiway has strong experience in appraisal and exploration, in which it applies leading-edge
drilling and completion technologies in previously discovered fields developed with
now outdated methods. Its drilling and completion expertise includes applying unprecedented
use in its core regions of sandstone and carbonate acid stimulation, coiled tubing
and nitrogen lift, and underbalanced drilling using air drilling technologies.
Crimea, UkraineCASE STUDY
In 2009, Tiway began drilling operations in the Crimea region of Ukraine. The field
had been first discovered in 1976 and was originally developed using technologies
available in the Soviet Union at that time.
Tiway worked closely with a major international oil service company on its first
project in Ukraine in a complicated project spanning many months. Tiway drilled
an exceptionally deep well—over 4,600 meters—and introduced novel techniques into
the region.
